Only God Can Judge Me

Only God knows all the factors involved when it comes to doing the things we do. God knows what we were thinking, he knows everything that has happened to us over the course of our lifetime and how it has shaped us, he know what spiritual attacks we are under and why, he know our health issues, he knows our strengths and weaknesses, and our knowledge, gifts, talents, and potential. Without knowledge of all these things a person (including ourselves) can come to the wrong conclusion about us, our intentions, Our prognosis, the consequences we deserve, the grace we need, the patience we require, and the treatment that is appropriate for us.

“Only God can judge me” is not the accountability dodge that people use it as — a way to do whatever they want, whenever they want, to whomever they want, however they want without being corrected or held accountable for themselves and their actions. Instead “Only God can judge me” is the realization that only God has the knowledge and wisdom required to accurately come to a conclusion about someone and correctly help, punish, or reward that person.

People use the phrase “Don’t judge me” in the same way that like to use “Only God can judge me” as a way to say and do anything they want to do without having to be convicted (made aware of our wrong) and corrected (told that we are wrong). But neither phrase “Only God can judge me” or “Don’t judge me” is helpful when used as a way to do whatever we want…in this way they actually cause a great deal of harm to us and everyone who follows in our footsteps. This faulty way of thinking is a trap for all those who follow our example and for us.

Living in such a way, avoiding correction at all costs so that we can do as we please, takes us so deeply into error that the work and time it would take to come back out of that error is immense and for most so overwhelming in scope that they don’t even bother to try to fix things even though they now understand the error in their ways and would like to escape the reality they find themselves living day after day.

God says a day will come when both those who already died and those that are still alive will have to stand before him and they will be judged for everything they have done in their lives — there is no way to escape it. Yet those that plead “the blood of Jesus” will be found not guilty even though they are not innocent.

When we say the phrase “Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior” the “and savior” part means that Jesus has saved us from something and the “something” he has saved us from is being found rightfully guilty when we go before God to be judged.

The only way we have the ability to plead “ the blood of Jesus” when we are being judged by God is to decide at some point during our lifetime that:

  • We believe God, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus are real

  • We believe Jesus actually lived (was a human being and yet fully God)

  • We believe that Jesus died on the cross

    • We believe that his death saves us from being found “guilty” of our sins

  • And we have decided to choose Jesus as our master ( aka Lord aka the person we are supposed to obey ) and savior (the one who is responsible for saving us )

God cannot be fooled so we must sincerely believe these things in order for them to apply. Simply saying it but not believing it only fools us and not God and puts us in the position to be found guilty even though we pleaded “the blood of Jesus” when God told us what we were charged with.

I urge you today to DECIDE to believe in your heart (your mind) and confess with your mouth (say out loud) that Jesus Christ is your Lord and savior. Romans 1 tells us that ALL of us are guilty so we all need the mercy that the blood of Jesus Christ provides—allowing us to be found innocent even though we did what God says we did!

Nothing changes in your situation until you decide to make a decision…you cannot accidentally fall into salvation…it must be a conscious decision that YOU make on your own. So decide today!

Realize that your decision doesn’t require you to be sin free, it doesn’t require you to be fully knowledgeable about God, it doesn’t require you to have all the answers, all of those things are unobtainable - they are goals you work towards but cannot reach (Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars -Norman Vincent Peale). But after you make the decision to make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior as you spend time with God you should see improvements in who you are, what you do and say, who you hang around, what you are willing to accept and tolerate. In fact, if you do not see improvements in who you are take that as a symptom that you may be lying to God and your self when you say that: “you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is your Lord and savior” ( you may be doing the confessing part but not the believing part and without both parts you cannot be found innocent when you plead the blood of Jesus)

If you have not already decided to make Jesus Christ your Lord and savior I urge you to decide today… do not put off until tomorrow what you can do today (why because you may not even be alive tomorrow so you gotta do what you gotta do while you are able to do it). Do not delay, don’t wait another minute , another hour, another day; week; or year believe in your heart and confess with your mouth today that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior!

Also, choose to send this to everyone that you love so that everyone you love has the opportunity to be saved. You can not save anyone but you can provide them the opportunity to be saved. No one wants to see their loved one lose, no one wants to see their loved ones in a bad situation, no one wants to see their loved ones in harms way so do everything you can to help everyone you love make it to the safety that is the ability to plead “the blood of Jesus” and be found innocent by God so that they do not have to pay the price for the wrong that they have done in this life.

Share, Post, Email this now because God will hold you accountable for their guilty verdict if you could have saved them from it but you chose not to.

And for everyone who is making the decision right now today to confess with your mouth and believe in your heart (your mind) that Jesus Christ is your Lord and savior send a quick email to us, The Discotheque Church, that says: “ I confess and believe the Jesus Christ is my Lord and savior “ so that we can be your witness and help support you in your Christian journey if you so choose.

Scriptures:

  • “Don't be afraid of people. They can kill you, but they cannot harm your soul. Instead, you should fear God who can destroy both your body and your soul in hell.” - Matthew‬ ‭10‬:‭28‬ ‭CEV‬‬

  • “It doesn't matter if people are civilized and educated, or if they are uncivilized and uneducated. I must tell the good news to everyone. That's why I am eager to visit all of you in Rome. I am proud of the good news! It is God's powerful way of saving all people who have faith, whether they are Jews or Gentiles. The good news tells how God accepts everyone who has faith, but only those who have faith. It is just as the Scriptures say, “The people God accepts because of their faith will live.”” -Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭14‬-‭17‬ ‭CEV‬‬

  • “If you are ashamed of me and my message, the Son of Man will be ashamed of you when he comes in his glory and in the glory of his Father and the holy angels.” -Luke‬ ‭9‬:‭26‬ ‭CEV‬‬

  • “Ezekiel, son of man, warn your people by saying: Someday, I, the Lord, may send an enemy to invade a country. And suppose its people choose someone to stand watch and to sound a warning signal when the enemy is seen coming. If any of these people hear the signal and ignore it, they will be killed in battle. But it will be their own fault, because they could have escaped if they had paid attention. But suppose the person watching fails to sound the warning signal. The enemy will attack and kill some of the sinful people in that country, and I, the Lord, will hold that person responsible for their death. -Ezekiel‬ ‭33‬:‭2‬-‭6‬ ‭CEV‬‬
